Metro, the 5th most read newspaper in the world, publishes and distributes free daily newspapers, comprising 18 editions in 14 countries. Since the launch of the first edition of Metro in Stockholm in 1995, the newspaper has become an international success, with a rapidly expanding readership of approximately seven million.

Bach Lees Design was asked by Boston Metro to redesign the paper for the Greater Boston audience. Our design development included the masthead, special sections, such as the Arts Weekender, advertising placement, section heading and typography.

Our extensive experience in newspaper and magazine publishing allowed us to assist them in locating appropriate office space, develop a staffing strategy, define production and editorial workflow and define and develop internal IT and networking systems.
